Pipeline Packaging, the largest US distributor of rigid industrial containers, has announced that it has consolidated Sooner Container (Sooner) into the Pipeline brand effective October 1, 2019. Sooner, which opened in 1992 with offices in Conroe, TX, and Tulsa, OK, was acquired by the larger Pipeline Packaging in August 2018, but has been run as an autonomous unit for the last year.
“Our plan,” explains Chris Nelson, president of Pipeline, “has always been to consolidate the two companies. We’ve learned, however, not to rush these things. It’s important to take the time to understand the workings of the other company and to let the people there feel they are a part of a bigger family. In time, we can bring the best of each company’s practices to the other and a larger team sharing their knowledge.”
In addition to the brand consolidation, Pipeline Packaging will consolidate its existing Houston facility into the newly expanded complex in Conroe, TX. The dual consolidation and expansion will allow for greater product and service options, increased inventory space, streamlined logistics, and a greater team spirit within the sales team. The physical consolidation will take place through the prior week with no service interruption. Operations in Tulsa, OK, will continue normally with only the brand change occurring.
