Name: Jonathan McCarthy
Title: Account Manager
What do you do at Pipeline? I partner with folks in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri and Arkansas to provide solutions to their packaging needs.
How long have you been with Pipeline? I joined the team in July of 2008.
Family? I’ve been married to my lovely wife, Mechelle, for 13 years and we have one daughter, Anna, who is 3-1/2.
Pets? My family has one 9 year old dachshund, Hannah.
What do you enjoy about living in Tennessee? There are many wonderful things about living in Tennessee (and Nashville in particular), including four true seasons of weather, beautiful natural resources like mountains and lakes, phenomenal local music and exciting sports teams. I moved to Tennessee from Alabama in 2002 and made my home Nashville.
Hobbies? My eclectic mix – I have an affinity for all aspects of vintage motorcycles, Alabama football – Roll Tide BCS!, golfing, drumming, and graphic design/screenprinting.
Pet peeves? Folks that use the left lane to cruise the speed limit or less on an Interstate, and bad grammar.
Who has been the greatest inspiration in your life? Without a doubt, my greatest inspiration has been my grandfather, John. Growing up, he was my father figure; he taught me how to hunt, how to tell a good joke, and how to champion my family and friends. I miss him greatly, but live with the wisdom he shared with me every day.
Read any good books? Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs was a fascinating read into the life of a man set on changing the world by thinking different. I’m currently reading The Power of Habit as well as a great number of wonderful childrens books with Anna.
Favorite movie? It’s difficult to narrow down one movie as my favorite, so how about three? In no particular order:

  • Shawshank Redemption (with one of my favorite quotes – “It comes down to a simple choice – Get Busy Living, or Get Busy Dying.”)
  • Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
  • Star Wars Empire Strikes Back.
Favorite color? Blue
Favorite food? As an odd Irishman, I love Italian food.
What is something that you think no one knows about you? I enjoy cooking and make a mean Chicken Parmesan.
What would you want other people to know about you? I never meet a stranger, enjoy making you laugh, and believe in the power of listening.
What 1 word best describes you? Galvanizing
What do you enjoy most about working with Pipeline? First, I enjoy the people of Pipeline. From my local family, the Southeast team, to the great folks in Glenwillow, I’m proud of the people I work with. They are second to none.

Also, I enjoy my customers. I like being able to partner with people on developing new projects, making ideas on paper become products on the shelf, finding unique solutions to the problems we face, and seeing their company grow.
