Mary Dahl Retires from Pipeline Packaging as Chris Nelson Named New President
Glenwillow, OH – March 15, 2015
Mary Dahl, the first president named at Pipeline Packaging, will retire effective April 1, 2015. After 23 years, 9 acquisitions and countless other successes, Dahl has been a mainstay at both Pipeline and their parent company, Cleveland Steel Container.
Coming from the retail industry in 1992, Dahl started as General Manager of Pipeline Packaging (then called NorthPak). Never having been in a warehouse, on a fork lift or in charge of a staff larger than 10 people, she was in for quite a challenge. Learning the business, how to manage the supply chain as well as honing her sales and operational skills was a challenge she has enjoyed.
President since 2005, Dahl has thoroughly enjoyed leading the company’s phenomenal growth from a single-location distributorship with eight employees to a major corporation of 13 sites and over $100 million in sales. She credits Pipeline Packaging’s success with the quality of the Pipeline Team that focuses every day on a making a significant difference to our customers’ businesses. “If they succeed, we also succeed!”
Dahl now looks forward to spending time with her friends, family and two miniature schnauzers. As a 3-time cancer survivor, she is considering volunteering her time and strong will to live to others who are coping with the disease.
Taking the helm at Pipeline Packaging is Chris Nelson. Already the president and COO of Cleveland Steel Container, Nelson comes with extensive experience in purchasing and operations in both the automotive and metals industries.
Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Chris is a life-long (suffering) Browns fan! He and his wife Marcy stay busy raising their 5 children.
